Clinical Social Work Source Book
At the request of many of our seminar participants, Ventajas has developed a handy guide for study that deals with core knowledges in Clinical Social Work. In the process we have developed a book that not only will help with study for licensing exam, but serves as a handy reference for all Clinical Social Workers.
Section One deals with all the Practice Theories that are used in Clinical Social Work. A quick reference gives you the key elements of each Paradigm, Model, Approach, Strategy, and Intervention. You also have the opportunity to apply each theory to a "case." This helps to make the theories more real. Section Two deals with the current Psychotropic Medications. You learn the generic name, brand name as well as common side effects. DSMIV TR diagnoses most often treated by each group of drugs are listed. A great reference tool! Section Three Deals with DSMIV TR and Differential Diagnosis. When faced with studying the DSM, many folks try to memorize all they see--not a good way to develop an understanding of the book as it applies to the people we see. In addition to an overview of the Organizational Structure of the DSMIV TR, our book points you to the issues of differential diagnosis that you are most likely going to see on the exam. We give you items (questions) to help you define your understanding. Again this is a neat tool for any Social Worker's library! Authors: Eli Fresquez, Ph.D., LISW Frances Goddard, M.S.W., LCSW
A compilation of hundreds of facts, concepts and definitions all Social Workers need to know!
Author: Kip Coggins, M.S.W., Ph.D.
